About the Norte Fire

If You Were Impacted, You May Have Questions

After a wildfire, even everyday decisions can feel overwhelming. You may be trying to find temporary housing, understand your insurance policy, or determine the extent of damage to your home.

Our team can review your situation if you experienced:

  • A home or other structure damaged or destroyed by fire

  • Smoke, soot, or ash damage

  • Damage to vehicles, landscaping, or personal belongings

  • Evacuation expenses or temporary housing costs

  • Lost income or business interruption

  • An injury or documented health effects related to the fire

  • Questions about insurance coverage, payments, or a claim decision

Homeowners, renters, and business owners may have different paths to recovery. Available options depend on your losses, insurance coverage, and the facts surrounding the fire.

How a Wildfire Attorney Can Help

Recovery can involve more than repairs. There are records to gather, expenses to track, insurance questions to answer, and decisions that may affect your family for years.

A wildfire attorney can help by:

  • Reviewing your losses and explaining potential avenues for recovery

  • Helping document property damage and related expenses

  • Reviewing insurance coverage and communications

  • Evaluating whether proposed payments account for covered losses

  • Assessing findings about the fire’s cause and potential responsibility

  • Explaining the deadlines and requirements that apply to your situation

Our goal is to help you understand your choices and make informed decisions, one step at a time.

What You Can Do Now

Once it is safe, save photographs and videos of any damage, receipts for additional expenses, and copies of insurance communications. Before-and-after property photos, repair estimates, and records of business interruptions may also be useful.

Keep a simple record of conversations with adjusters or contractors, including dates and what was discussed.

Follow all restrictions on entering affected areas. If you cannot gather everything right now, start with what you have. You do not need a complete set of records before asking for help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who Is Eligible?

  • Anybody who lost their home or business

How Long Do I Have?

Time is already running out to file a claim. We strongly urge that you, your family, neighbors and friends impacted by the wildfires sign up immediately.
